The Orange Cat Coffee Company Review – Lewiston, NY

We were told by a friend who recently visited Niagara Falls that there was a vegan-friendly coffee shop called The Orange Cat Coffee Company in the neighboring town of Lewiston. For breakfast one morning on our trip to the area, we stopped by to partake in some of their baked goods.

They had an assortment of vegan baked goods, such as scones, muffins, and cookies. I would not have known about the place if it weren’t for a friend’s recommendation. On the outside, they don’t advertise as being a vegetarian establishment. On the inside, none of the baked goods are listed as vegan. I had to ask to make sure that they were and was informed all of their baked goods were in fact vegan.

I ordered a blueberry muffin and a bottle of OJ. The hubby got a banana walnut muffin and coffee. The muffins were both wonderful! They were moist, big, and definitely fell in the category of I-can’t-believe-it’s-vegan! My OJ was room temperature however, but my husband did enjoy his black coffee.

I would give them 4 out of 5 carrots on the veganlicious scale.

They were quite busy on our visit and the place seemed to be frequented by mostly locals who seemed to know one another. They had some nice outdoor seating that was good for people watching. I was disappointed though that they didn’t label or advertise as vegan-friendly once you arrive to the restaurant, but despite this I would head back for another visit to try their lunch specials.
